07/07/2003 10:24:01 p.m.Lake Tanganyika, Burundi Sector This is one of the two models for Lake Tanganyika pertaining to the period 1974-1976 noted for the trophic groups' high biomasses. An update of previous estimates of production by pelagic fish and invertebrate populations of the lake is presented here, with a revised quantification of their trophic interactions. The use of ECOPATH II to analyze the simple pelagic zone of Lake Tanganyika was helpful esp. with biomass estimations but problems were still encountered on the preciseness of the data used here.
